Onion newsbrief: iPhone 2.0
We do love The Onion around these parts, and when Onion
coverage does cross over into Engadget territory, we find
it's usually best to let those guys speak for themeselves:
We looked at [the iPhone's] innovative user interface, the
paradigm-shifting voicemail, the best-in-class mobile browser,
and we realized we could make all that seem ridiculous.

CallWave's Awesome Voicemail Desktop Widget
I decided to test & install the widget myself. The
widget works with Yahoo! Widgets, Windows Vista widgets, and
Apple widgets. You can download the widget file from the CallWave
website. The service works with most U.S. phone providers
such as Cingular, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

The iPhone headed for 2.0 revision
'We looked at [the iPhone's] innovative user interface,
the paradigm-shifting voicemail, the best-in-class mobile
browser, and we realized we could make all that seem ridiculously
outdated by the time the product becomes available to customers
in June,' said Jobs, who described the project as 'Apple reinventing
the iPhone.'"

Next Version of iChat to include VOICEMAIL
A trusted source has provided a screen-capture of an iChat
4.0 preference pane which hints at an as-yet-unannounced new
feature voicemail. Such a feature would round out the programs
VoIP offerings and create a more complete communication experience
for users.

Call wave is Fantastic!
I have been using Callwave's free service for only two
days and am already in love. First of all is the seamless
integration with your own carrier (mine being T-Mobile). Second
has to be how it integrates with OS X as a widget to give
me an iPhone(esque) type of visual voicemail. Callwave basic
is free and does all that I just described.
